The Network Baseline

A baseline mobile audit using Google PageSpeed Insights:

• Total Page Weight: 15.0 MB
• First Contentful Paint (FCP): 2.7s
• Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): 74.5s

Optimizations

• Media Pipeline: Transcoded the hero background GIF to a loop-optimized WebM, dropping the asset from 13MB to 260KB. All PNG and JPEG files were converted to compressed WebP format. The SVG logos were optimized.
• Dependency Stripping: Purged all unused scripts and legacy stylesheets. Reimplemented the full-page scrolling mechanics using Vanilla CSS, eliminating the need for fullpage.js and jQuery.
• Markup Simplification: Flattened the deeply nested document structure to reduce total DOM depth and node complexity.
• Accessibility and Layout: Corrected global color contrast ratios for accessibility standards and overhauled the footer architecture to align correctly with the full-page layout grid.

Status

While there still remains scope for improvements, I’m satisfied with the current level of optimization.
